NAN Rising?

It appears the Native American Nations may be starting to form, starting with the Sioux Nation.

A delegation of Lakota leaders has delivered a message to the State Department, and said they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties they signed with the federal government of the US, some of them more than 150 years old.

Lakota country includes parts of the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.

Hmmm…. I wasn’t aware that you could turn news stories into glass…. Perhaps you mean verification…?

We provided two links Chummer, both to recognized NEWS agencies.. Perhaps your not aware that all news agencies are owned by entertainment companies..? For example: CNN is owned by Turner Broadcasting… Who in turn are owned by Time Warner..

Perhaps the question you should be asking is, why did they ignore the story?
In any case, I wish you luck in tracing this out. When you do, send us a link to updated info. We are curious where this sits months later.

Good luck getting that land back. The Lakota are going to need to be able to cause volcanic eruptions if they want to win against the American government.

They are calling it the “Republic of Lakota” from the “official” republic web site.
    I quote:
“Lakotah , and the population therein, have waited for at least 155 years for the United States of America to adhere to the provisions of the above referenced treaties. The continuing violations of these treaties’ terms have resulted in the near annihilation of our people physically, spiritually, and culturally. Lakotah rejects United States Termination By Appropriation policy from 1871 to the present.

In addition, the evidence of gross violations of the above referenced treaties are listed herein. Lakotah encourages the United States of America, through its Government ,to enter into dialogue with Lakotah regarding the boundaries, the land and the resources therein. Please contact the Republic of Lakotah at (605) 867-1111 or info@republicoflakotah.com.

Should the United States and its subordinate governments choose not to act in good faith concerning the rebirth of our nation, we hereby advise the United States Government that Lakotah will begin to administer liens against real estate transactions within the five state area of Lakotah.

Lakotah, through its government, appointed the following representatives to withdraw from all the treaties with the United States of America based on the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties entered into force in 1980 and the

U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples 2007:”

Here is a bit of an article from wikipedia:

“…On December 20, 2007, Means announced the withdrawal of a small group of Lakota Sioux from all treaties with the United States government. Means and a delegation of activists declared the Lakota a sovereign nation with property rights over thousands of square miles in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana. The Republic of Lakota website asserts that their group met with what they termed “traditional treaty councils” in eight communities. However, they admit their delegation does not act for elected tribal governments, or as they described them “IRA Indians, ’stay by the fort indians’, or other Lakota people unwilling to be free.” At a D.C. presentation Means also stated that his group does not “represent collaborators, the Vichy Indians and those tribal governments set up by the United States of America,” comparing tribal leaders to the French leaders of Nazi Germany-Occupied France headquartered at Vichy, France.

Following the (non-binding) UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in September of 2007, a group of American Indian activists presented a letter to the US State Department indicating they were withdrawing from all treaties with the US Government, and began the process of contacting foreign governments to solicit support as of December 17th, 2007

On January 8, 2008 two Lakota tribal leaders released a written statement against any plan to renounce treaties with the United States, saying the issue was enforcement of existing treaties…”

I am a native american. The so called withdrawal was announced by a well known activist who does not represent any native nation and as such it is akin to a random citizen in America writing to France and saying, “I, as a person with no power, declare that the USA is at war with France.” That is why it was ignored.
